Sherwood Structure Fire 8th September 2007

A fire started in a storage area around 9am at 469 Sherwood Road, Sherwood. The building contained at least 50 business's as well as hundreds of self-storage units.

The entire 15,000sqmtr premise was gutted by the fire which may have started in an area used to store lots of toilet paper. Make pumps 10 (5 alarm) was initiated with 3 aerials and support vehicles and senior officers responded.

Crews fought the fire for many hours before bringing it under control, fire crews will remain on site over night monitoring the fire that is still smouldering.

The cause of the fire is unknown, investigations continue.
